Home > shelving

The large, adjustable height back shelf is just over 9" deep and 46" wide within the walls of the Desktop Elevator. It's designed to hold various desk items, including a wide monitor, a CPU, and/or dual monitors. If a laptop computer is used, it can be placed anywhere on the front work surface and the rear shelf can be adjusted to provide a large matching work surface.

The Desktop Elevator is available as a stand-alone unit and is 48" wide without any side shelving. Or it can be ordered with separate, free-standing side shelves which can be placed on either or both sides and adds 11" width each.

POSITIONING THE SHELF FOR YOUR MONITOR HEIGHT:
The Desktop Elevator can be used alone as it’s rear monitor shelf is height adjustable.  This works particularly well with monitors that have a built in height adjustment feature, but many users find even that is not necessary.  Monitor bases raise the height of the screen several inches, so setting the monitor shelf a little lower than the front surface allows the bottom of the actual screen to be at the same height but fully visible when standing for a more natural viewing angle. This lower shelf setting also provides a better position for use in the seated position. When used in this way, only the standard tilt feature found on most monitors usually needs adjusting when changing positions. As mentioned, monitors that have stands with a built in height adjustment feature provide some increase in the vertical range of motion. However, the ultimate personalized work space is achieved by adding our custom fit articulating monitor arm and retractable keyboard tray.  The combination of these options results in a fully ergo-compliant workspace that has no equal in physical and visual ranges of motion. Your monitor must be VESA compliant to attach to a monitor arm.  For further VESA information please go to Accessories and click on either the single or dual monitor arm.
